I kicked off the fall wedding season with Kristle and Parker’s wedding at Tryon Palace in New Bern, North Carolina. Ever since shooting a wedding near Tryon Palace three years ago, I have been dying to take a look inside the grounds. As North Carolina’s first colonial and state capitol, this beautiful mansion is an idyllic venue for a wedding.
Kristle and Parker said their vows in the palace’s adjacent gardens and celebrated for the rest of the evening at the North Carolina History Center, right off of the New Bern waterfront. I enjoyed trekking across the palace grounds for Kristle and Parker’s portraits, as the leaves were just starting to turn. The weather magically held out for us, even though the morning forecast called for thunderstorms.
I enjoyed having my former UNC intern, Maria Estes, second-shoot this wedding with me. Maria worked for me and my husband in 2012, and has since gotten married and started her own photography business.
Kristle and Parker, thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of your day. Your laid-back, easygoing personalities made the wedding day a breeze, as you were so refreshing to be around! 🙂 I hope that you cherish these photos for the years to come. Enjoy!
