Erin + Charles tied the knot on March 19, 2016 in an intimate Quaker wedding at The New Garden Friends Meeting in Greensboro, NC. They moseyed on down to Hodgin Valley Farm for a fun and relaxed reception.

1. What are some of your favorite things about your partner? How were these attributes expressed during or leading up to your wedding?
Erin: Charles is amazingly kind, patient, and cheerful (sometimes annoyingly so!). When I was stressing over the final details of our wedding, he was there to talk me through it. He is the eternal optimist, and as he predicted, our wedding day was perfect.
Charles: Erin is incredibly organized, which helped a lot during the wedding planning process. She had lots of lists and spreadsheets. She is very thoughtful and pays great attention to detail, which is obvious both in our daily life and at our wedding.
2. What was most important to you in planning your wedding?
We really wanted our wedding to reflect our personalities and our relationship. We didn’t want a generic wedding that wasn’t special to us. Rather than a traditional rehearsal dinner we invited all of our family and out of town friends to a BBQ dinner with lawn games. It was nice to hang out with people then since we knew our wedding day would be busy. Having a Quaker ceremony meant a lot to us, and the reception was fun and relaxed. No assigned seats or scheduled events.
3. Are there any details or moments from your wedding that are particularly special to you? (E.g., you wore your momma’s dress, your partner unexpectedly serenaded you, there was a double rainbow all across the sky…).
The ceremony itself was really wonderful – we could feel the love in the room. It was fun to be facing all of our family and friends and see everyone smiling at us.
4. Now that you’ve tied the knot (and survived!), what advice would you give to other folks planning their wedding?
It’s easy to become overwhelmed with details and spend hours on Pinterest. Once you decide on something don’t keep looking at other options. Chances are no one will remember what color napkins you had or what font you used for the programs.
5. What is the first thing you want to do with the images? Wallpaper the hallway? Internet fame?
We’ll print some to frame for our house, and I’m sure we’ll share some online as well.
6. What is next for you as a couple? Any big plans?
We’re waiting until the summer to take a honeymoon – a trip to Alaska! We’re planning for that, and will likely buy a house in the next year also.
