myrtle beach beauties

I just spent a wonderful weekend with Laura Fletcher and her bridesmaids (of which I am one!) at her uncle’s condo in Myrtle Beach. This was a refreshing weekend full of laughter, good fellowship, a breathtaking setting, encouraging conversations, and a large dose of bachelorette tomfoolery.

Laura Loo, I love you and am so excited for you and John! Thanks for lovin’ on me and being such a great big sister these past five years. I can’t WAIT for your wedding. Twelve days and counting…

Here are pics of some good-lookin’ ladies. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy these amazing (and beautiful) women!

Joan+Kyle Married

I shot the beautiful Chapel Hill wedding of Joan+Kyle last Saturday. The ceremony was held at the Newman Center on campus, which must be one of the best chapels I’ve shot in because of all the natural light! The ceremony itself was quite sacred and moving; Joan and Kyle chose to have a traditional Catholic wedding–which contained some beautiful hymns, Scripture readings, and communion at the end. I found myself caught up in the beauty of it all, taking time to put the camera down and partake in the worship service.

The reception was at the Triangle Brewing Company, which is a pretty sweet brewery in downtown Durham (where Kyle happened to meet Joan for the first time!)

I had a great time shooting this wedding with Kasha Stevenson, a really gifted photographer finishing up her undergraduate degree from UNC’s photojournalism program. On the way home from the reception we both expressed our thankfulness in being able to share in Joan and Kyle’s joy for the day. We both felt energized and inspired at the end of the day and had a fruitful conversations about photography and marriage, among other things, as a result. It was a good day.

Enjoy!
